417. Landing of docked horses.

No docked1 horse2 coming from outside the United Kingdom may be landed from a ship, aircraft or hovercraft unless permitted to do so by a customs officer, who must be satisfied that it will be exported as soon as practicable, or under licence granted by the appropriate authority, which must be satisfied that it is to be used for breeding purposes3.

An offence, the penalty for which on summary conviction is a customs penalty4 or, as the case may be, a fine, not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale
