284.     Introduction of endangered species into Great Britain.

The introduction of specified endangered species into Great Britain1 is subject to controls, the stringency of which depends on the classification of the species in question.

Species listed in Annex A may be so introduced only on the completion of the necessary checks, and the prior presentation, at the border customs office at the point of introduction, of an import permit issued by the management authority23. The issue of import permits is conditional on:
