Where a person is convicted of an offence relating to obtaining game by unlawfully going on land, or using a gun or other article for unlawfully killing or taking game1, the court convicting him may, if it thinks fit, direct that any game, gun or other article duly seized from that person2 which was in his possession or which was being carried by him in any cart or other conveyance be forfeited, whether or not the offence of which he was convicted concerned that game, gun or article3.
