The following conservation measures must be implemented in zoos1 in accordance with the Zoo Licensing Act 1981:
(1) participating in at least one of the following:
(a) research from which conservation benefits accrue to species of wild animals2;
(b) training in relevant conservation skills3;
(c) the exchange of information relating to the conservation of species of wild animals4;
(d) where appropriate, breeding of wild animals in captivity5; and
(e) where appropriate, the repopulation of an area with, or the reintroduction into the wild of, wild animals6;
(2) promoting public education and awareness
