282. Codes of practice.

The appropriate authority1 may issue or approve a code of practice relating to:

  1.  

    (1)     animals which are not ordinarily resident in and are not regular visitors to Great Britain in a wild state;

  2.  

    (2)     certain non-native, native and former native animals listed2 in the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981; or

  3.  

    (3)     any description of animals mentioned in head (1) or (2)3.

The appropriate authority must ensure that a code is published in a way that is appropriate for bringing it to the attention of persons likely to be affected by it
