Subject to the following provisions, the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and regulations and orders made under it bind the Crown1.
No contravention by the Crown of any provision made by or under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 will make the Crown criminally liable; but the High Court may declare unlawful any act or omission of the Crown which constitutes such a contravention2.
