266. Alteration of licences.

The local authority1 may alter a licence at any time after its grant if it considers it necessary or desirable for ensuring the proper conduct of a zoo during the period of the licence2. The licence holder must generally be given an opportunity to make representations3.

If the appropriate authority directs a local authority to alter a licence, the local authority must give effect to such direction within a reasonable time4. However, the appropriate authority may not direct the local authority to make an alteration to the licence which is inconsistent with the implementation at the zoo of the relevant
