The Marketing Development Scheme, which in practice is now operative only in relation to Wales1, enables the Secretary of State and the Welsh Ministers2 to pay to any eligible person a grant towards expenditure incurred in carrying out a proposal for the organisation, promotion, encouragement, development, co-ordination or facilitation of the marketing in Great Britain or elsewhere of:
(1) the produce of agriculture (including horticulture)3;
(2) the produce of the shooting and harvesting of game in the wild4;
(3) the produce of the repeated harvesting of short rotation coppice above ground level at intervals of less than ten years5;
