A 'statutory statement' is a statement given in pursuance of seeds regulations1. It may be in the form of a notice or other document, in the form of particulars given on any label or container or package, or in any other form2. Such statements, when received by the purchaser, have effect as a written warranty by the seller that the particulars in them are correct3. Moreover, the particulars in a statutory statement are deemed to be true for the purposes of any legal proceedings on a contract for the sale of seeds
