309. Regulation of activities of gangmasters.

The activities of persons who supply workers1 to carry out certain kinds of agricultural and fisheries work ('gangmasters') are regulated by statute2. The work to which the legislation applies is agricultural work3, the gathering of shellfish4, and the processing or packaging of any produce derived from agricultural work5 or shellfish, fish or products derived therefrom6; and the Secretary of State7 may also by regulations make provision excluding work of a prescribed8 description from being work to which the legislation applies9 or including work of a prescribed description10, as being work to which it applies11.
