Provision is made by EU legislation for rules on the placing on the market and use of feed for both food-producing and non-food producing animals within the EU, including requirements for labelling, packaging and presentation1. Statutory instruments provide for a person to be guilty of an offence if he fails to comply with EU provisions that relate to the following subject matters2:
(1) general safety and other requirements to be met when feed is placed on the market or used3;
(2) extension of requirements in relation to feed for food-producing animals in other legislation to apply to feed for
