If a registered producer contravenes the control of marketing established by the British Wool Marketing Scheme1 he incurs liability to a penalty of such amount, not exceeding £100 plus half the price of any wool sold in contravention of the scheme, as the disciplinary committee2 thinks just3. For other offences the maximum penalty is £1004. No such penalty may be imposed, however, in respect of a contravention which constitutes an offence under the Agricultural Marketing Act 1958 or any other Act5.
