152.     Marking of livestock.

The marking of livestock may be required for the purposes of subsidies or guaranteed prices to distinguish imported from home-produced livestock1, or to ensure that a home-produced animal is not presented more than once2. Marking may also be required to indicate that an animal is suitable, or unsuitable, for breeding3, or in connection with the control of the spread of diseases among animals4.
