The EC Feed Hygiene Regulation1 lays down general rules on feed hygiene2 as well as conditions and arrangements for ensuring the traceability of feed3 and for the registration and approval of establishments4, and has been implemented and supplemented in the United Kingdom by statutory instrument5. The legislation applies to the activities of feed business operators at all stages, from and including primary production of feed up to and including the placing of feed on the market6, the feeding of food-producing animals7, and imports and exports of feed from and to third countries
