Consequent to the UK's withdrawal from the EU, this Halsbury paragraph should be read in conjunction with the Market Measures (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, SI 2019/824, pending incorporation of the changes into the text.

It is a defence for a person charged ('A') with an offence under provisions relating to the marketing of fresh fruit and vegetables1, to prove that their actions were carried out with lawful authority or that they took all reasonable precautions and exercised all due diligence to avoid committing the offence2.
