156. Control of rams.

In order to improve the quality of sheep, the Secretary of State and the Welsh Ministers1 may make regulations2 controlling the keeping of rams and uncastrated ram lambs on land of any specified description and providing for matters incidental thereto3. In particular the regulations may prohibit the keeping of such rams or lambs in certain areas unless approved for breeding purposes, or the keeping of them during specified periods unless licensed4. They may also provide for the inspection or marking of such rams and lambs, and can include provisions for requiring5 them to be slaughtered or castrated where they
