If an offence1 committed by a body corporate, an unincorporated association or a partnership2 is shown either to have been committed with the consent or connivance of an officer3 of the body or association or a partner4 of the partnership, or to be attributable to any neglect on the part of the officer or partner, that officer or partner, as well as the body, association or partnership, is guilty of the offence and liable to be proceeded against and punished accordingly5.
