An occupier of a holding who begins to keep bovine animals, including bison and buffalo, on that holding, and any person who takes over the occupation of a holding where cattle are kept, must notify the Secretary of State or, in relation to Wales, the Welsh Ministers, within one month of his name and address and the address of the holding1, whereon they will be issued with a herdmark for each holding2.
