The only tenancies commencing after 1 September 19951 to which the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 can apply are:
(1) tenancies obtained by virtue of a direction under the statutory provisions relating to succession to agricultural tenancies on death or retirement2;
(2) tenancies granted3 where a successful application for succession on death has been made4;
(3) tenancies granted on an agreed succession by a written contract of tenancy indicating (in whatever terms) that the provisions relating to the death or retirement of an agricultural tenant5 are to apply in relation to the tenancy6;
(4) tenancies created by the acceptance of
