Where a district, parish, London borough or, in Wales, a community, county or county borough council1 is of the opinion that any land2 acquired by it for allotments3, or any part of any such land, is not needed for the purpose of allotments, or that more suitable land is available, it may sell4 or let5 the land6, or exchange the land for more suitable land, and may pay or receive money for equality of exchange7.
