A person who has a qualifying interest in agricultural land1 which is acquired compulsorily2 is entitled, provided he has occupied the land for the specified period3, to a payment of a specified amount4 which in respect of an interest in land may not exceed £25,0005. Such payment must be made by the acquiring authority6. A payment of an equal amount may be made in respect of the acquisition of such an interest by an acquiring authority by agreement7. No payment will, however, be made where specified statutory improvement or repair notices or orders relating to hazards have effect or
