Where the retiring tenant1 dies after giving his retirement notice2 but when no application by a nominated successor3 has been made or before the final disposal of such application, the retirement notice is ineffective and no further proceedings may be taken with regard to it; the succession provisions normally applicable on the death of a tenant4 apply in such a case5.
If the retiring tenant dies when the Tribunal6 has already given a direction that the nominated successor is entitled to the tenancy7 but before the retirement date, that direction stands8.
