Where land1 is let to a district, parish, London borough, or, in Wales, a community, county or county borough council2, or an association3, under a contract of tenancy made after 4 August 19224 for the purpose of being sublet for use by the tenants5 as allotment gardens6, the council or association may claim compensation for improvements in the same manner as may individual tenants of allotment gardens
