660.     Acquisition of land for allotments.

The necessary land for allotments1 may be acquired by a local authority2 by hiring by agreement3, by compulsory hiring4, by purchase by agreement5, by compulsory purchase6, and by the appropriation of land held for other purposes7. Certain local authorities may enter on unoccupied land for the purpose of providing allotment gardens8. Land may also be acquired by transfer from allotment wardens and trustees9. Acquisitions and disposals of land for the purposes of the provision of allotments generally
