The lead enforcement authority1 and local weights and measures authorities2 are the 'enforcement authorities' for the purposes of the Estate Agents Act 1979, and are under a duty to enforce the Act's provisions3. These enforcement authorities have investigatory powers under the Consumer Rights Act 20154.
