282.     Criminal convictions.

The lead enforcement authority1 may make an order prohibiting a person from carrying on estate agency work2 or from engaging in a particular aspect of such work3 if it is satisfied that that person has committed4:

(1)     an offence involving fraud or other dishonesty or violence5;

(2)     an offence under the Estate Agents Act 1979 (other than an offence involving engaging in estate agency work without having attained the appropriate standards of competence or while bankrupt)6;

(3)     an offence relating to misleading marketing or unfair commercial practices
