For the purposes of the statutory regulation of estate agents1 a person is an 'associate' of another if he is the spouse2 or civil partner3 or a relative4 of that other or of a business associate of that other5. A body corporate can be an 'associate' of another body corporate6, an unincorporated association can be an 'associate' of another unincorporated association7 and a partnership can be an 'associate' of another partnership8.
