The Secretary of State1 may by order make provision about the approval of redress schemes2 for those who engage in lettings agency work3 or in property management work4.
In exercise of this power, an order has been made in relation to England which sets out the procedure that is to be followed where an application for approval is made5. The order specifies the conditions that must be satisfied before the Secretary of State may approve a redress scheme6 and the conditions that must be satisfied before the Secretary of State may designate a scheme as a government administered redress scheme7.
