7 Preparation of documents

The documents to be lodged with the Privy Council Office on an application being made for a charter comprise the petition and the draft charter itself1. Both petition and draft charter should be printed or typed on good quality A4 paper and bound together.

The petition should be sealed with the seal of the petitioning body, if it has a common seal, or alternatively should be signed by the petitioners or a number of them to whom the appropriate power has been delegated by resolution2 passed at a properly convened meeting. The
