7 Registration of title to mines and minerals

‘Mines and minerals’ are defined by the Land Registration Act 2002 to include any strata or seam of minerals or substances in or under any land and powers of working and getting any such minerals or substances1. When title to the land is registered it includes, by way of a rebuttable presumption, the mines and minerals subject to certain overriding interests including2 any interest in land consisting in an interest in any coal or coal mine, the rights attached to any such interest and the rights of any person under the Coal
