19.4 Electricity

Generally, the mining code provisions of the 1845 Act are not incorporated into deeds for wayleaves and easements exercised by electricity suppliers. However, such arrangements are usually terminable on 12 months’ notice and in the event the electricity supply company wishes to acquire the rights compulsorily, the provisions for compulsory acquisition included in the Electricity Supply Acts incorporate the mining code provisions from the Acquisition of Land Act 19811.
