82 Acts permitted to lawful users

The rights to decompile a computer program for the permitted objective and to make a back up copy for lawful use cannot be restricted by contract1.

In all other circumstances it is not an infringement of copyright for a lawful user of a copy of a computer program to copy or adapt it, provided that the copying or adapting:

  1. 82.1

        is necessary for its lawful use; and

  2. 82.2

        is not prohibited under any term or condition of an agreement regulating the circumstances in which his use is lawful2.
