53 General

Education is a major area in which there are a number of permitted acts that will not amount to an infringement of copyright. These are dealt with under six headings:

  1. 53.1

        illustration for instruction1;

  2. 53.2

        anthologies for educational use2;

  3. 53.3

        performing, playing or showing a work in the course of activities of an educational establishment3;

  4. 53.4

        recording by educational establishments of broadcasts4;

  5. 53.5

        copying and use of extracts of works by educational establishments5; and

  6. 53.6

        lending of copies by educational establishments6.
