176.2 Criminal offences and other provisions in relation to the circumvention of protection measures for copyright works other than computer programs

A criminal offence can be committed in relation to:

  1. 176.2.1

        any device, product or component which is primarily designed, produced, or adapted for the purpose of enabling or facilitating the circumvention of effective technological measures;

  2. 176.2.2

        a service, the purpose of which is enabling or facilitating the circumvention of effective technological measures.

The acts which attract criminal liability for:

  1. 176.2.3

        ‘any device, etc’ include manufacturing for sale or hire; importing otherwise than for the private and domestic use of the
