161 Infringement actionable by copyright owner

Copyright is described in the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as a property right, and the general principle is that an infringement of copyright is actionable by the copyright owner and the same relief is available to him by way of damages, injunctions, accounts or otherwise as is available in respect of the infringement of any other property right1.
