128 The Copyright Hub

The Copyright Hub1 was established following the recommendations of the report by Professor Ian Hargreaves published in May 20112.

Professor Hargreaves’ report had been commissioned by the Prime Minister in November 2010, because of the risk that the then current intellectual property framework might not be sufficiently well designed to promote innovation and growth in the UK economy. One of Professor Hargreaves’ main recommendations was the establishment of a Digital Copyright Exchange (‘DCE’) for streamlining copyright licensing across sectors in global digital markets.
