107 Adaptations

Any act which is permitted by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 Part I Chapter III1 in connection with a literary, dramatic or musical work does not, where that work is an adaptation2, infringe copyright in the original work from which the adaptation was made3. This is a necessary provision, since the infringement of copyright in a work which is an adaptation would necessarily involve the indirect infringement of the copyright in the work from which the adaptation has been made.
