68 Provision of amenities on highway by local authorities and other persons

Subject to certain restrictions, local authorities have power to carry out works and to place objects on, in or over a highway in relation to which a pedestrian planning order is in force1, and certain other highways2, for the purpose of enhancing the amenity (for example, by providing lawns, trees, shrubs or flowers) or providing a public service3.
