35 Repair of bridges

Where a highway passes over a bridge1 or through a tunnel, that bridge or tunnel is taken to be a part of the highway2. A bridge carrying a highway maintainable at public expense is therefore itself publicly maintainable3. Specific alternative provision may be made.
