160 Community Protection Notices

Litter clearing notices and street litter control notices were repealed by the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 20141. Authorised persons2 can issue a notice to a person over 16, or a business or organisation, whose persistent and unreasonable conduct is having a detrimental effect on the quality of life of the local community3. Community Protection Notices (CPNs) may require a relevant behaviour to stop, eg, to stop accumulating litter, require an action to be carried out, eg, to clear litter, or to take reasonable steps to achieve specific results4.
