97 Application of UK competition law to the precedents in this work

Reference should also be made to the relevant UK legislation, such as the Competition Act 1998 which amends the Fair Trading Act 1973 and repealed and replaced the Restrictive Trade Practices Act 1976 and the Resale Prices Act 1976 and most of the Competition Act 1980. This Act has been subsequently amended by the Enterprise Act 2002 which introduced the new criminal offence of dishonestly agreeing anti-competitive practices with one or more persons1. Proceedings may only be instituted by the Serious Fraud Office.
