79 USA: termination of grants of copyright

Complex termination rights exist for any work which is not a ‘work made for hire’. In the case of any work other than a work made for hire, the exclusive or non-exclusive grant of a transfer or licence of copyright executed by the author on or after 1 January 1978, otherwise than by way of will, is subject to termination subject to certain conditions1.
