63 Japan: civil and criminal liability for infringement

The Japan Copyright Act 1970 provides specific measures in relation to civil and criminal liability. The authors and owners of copyright works, performers and owners of neighbouring rights have the right to demand the cessation or prevention of infringements of their rights1 and the right to claim damages2.
