417 Financier's profit

The net receipts of a distributor after the deduction of whatever sales agency fees and expenses are applicable are generally remitted to the financiers of a film until the financiers have recouped their investment. It is normal to provide for a distributors net receipts to be apportioned between the financiers in the proportion of their respective contributions (ie pro rata) and it is also normal, though by no means always the rule, for all of the financiers to receive income progressively in their entitlement from the first sums remitted (ie pari passu)1.
