407 Overhead charges

Overhead charges, like the theatrical exhibitors’ ‘house nut’1do not always relate to the actual cost of heat, light, rates etc but more with the cost of being engaged in a highly speculative business. Overhead charges are a way of recovering losses incurred in developing projects which are not made or recovering lost money out of projects which are developed and are not successful.
