371 Hold-overs and pull-outs

A distributor may wish to negotiate a holdover figure with an exhibitor. A holdover figure will be a minimum level of gross box office receipts at which the exhibitor will agree to continue to show the film on the same agreed terms. Generally, in the United Kingdom, films are acquired on terms which permit the exhibitor to review a film's performance and decide whether or not to extend the engagement of an initial agreed period.
