37 China: authorship and ownership of copyright

Except where otherwise provided the copyright in a work belongs to its author1. Where a work is created jointly by more than one author, the copyright belongs jointly to all co-authors2. The copyright in a cinematographic work is owned by its producer3, while the ‘right of authorship’4 is owned by its scriptwriter, director, cameraman, lyricist, composer and other authors5. Such persons have the right to exploit any copyright works made by them and included in the cinematograph work separately and independently of the cinematograph work
