Theatrical distribution involves the renting out and supply of prints of films for theatrical exhibition in cinemas. Non-theatrical distribution consists of the selling of rights to exhibit films in prisons, hospitals, schools, educational establishments and other institutions as well as aeroplanes, ships, trains, military bases and oil and marine installations. There is an element of overlap between the non-theatrical and home video markets.
