36 China: copyright and related rights protection

Order No. 26 of the President of the People’s Republic of China amended the previous copyright legislation of 7 September 1990 and enacted provisions for the purpose of protecting the copyright of authors of literary, artistic and scientific works1. The Order provides copyright protection for Chinese citizens, legal entities and other organisations and protects the nationals of foreign states which provide reciprocal protection for Chinese copyright works2. The works protected by the Law are written works; oral works; musical, dramatic, quyi3, choreographic and acrobatic works; works of fine art and architecture; photographic works;
