35 China: Macao Special Administrative Region

The Macao Special Administrative Region was established pursuant to the Sino-Portuguese Joint Declaration of 1987 and the former Portuguese dependency was transferred to China on 20 December 1999.

The copyright legislation of the Macao SAR is contained in the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China of 31 March 1993. Although the text of this law is available in Mandarin and Portuguese, no English language version is available.
